Being Prepared For Winter – Useful Information For You

This section is designed to offer you help to be prepared for winter as well as you can be.

The best course of action is to be as prepared as you can be, but if you do become unwell, here is some information about services and options you might want to consider.

If you contact us because you feel unwell, we will offer a solution on the same day if your symptoms suggest you need rapid care. There might be some occasions where we think an alternative solution such as seeing a pharmacist might be the best action.

We have an urgent care team who work alongside your own GP. The urgent care team are a group of highly trained clinical staff, they are GP’s, paramedics, physios, or nurses who will arrange to see or speak with you, This service is designed to deal with urgent on the day problems.

Please be aware that if you need to be seen, you will be given the next available appointment. Unless there are exceptional circumstances you will not be able to book an appointment for later in the day.

There might be occasions over the winter where the urgent care team reach capacity, and your request cannot be dealt with that day. If this occurs you will be advised of other options which are open to you, such as 111, Cumberland Centre etc.
